1. India will work on the animal husbandry sector in cooperation with Brazil.
Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Minister Parshottam Rupala visited the cutting-edge cattle genomics & embryo laboratories in Brazil. 2. India won bronze in archery by defeating Turkey.
1st Medal for India at Gwangju 2022 Archery World Cup Stage 2 Women’s Compound trio Muskan Kirar, Priya Gurjar & Avneet Kaur win the Bronze after defeating Team Turkey (232-231) in the bronze medal match. Men’s Compound Team reached the Final after defeating Korea in a tiebreaker, and will next play France on 21st May for the Gold Medal match.
3. India successfully test-fired an anti-ship missile.
Indian Navy in association with DRDO_India successfully undertook the maiden firing of the first indigenously developed Naval AntiShip Missile from Seeking 42B helo, today at ITR, Balasore. This firing is a significant step toward achieving self-reliance in niche missile technology & reaffirms the IndianNavy‘s commitment to indigenization Combat Ready, Credible Future Proof Force.
4. National emergency life support course launched for doctors.
MoS for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pawar launched National Emergency Life Support (NELS) courses for doctors, nurses, and paramedics. Apart from the training modules, the program also includes developing training infrastructure in all States/UTs to implement the NELS course & creating a cadre of trainers to train doctors, nurses & paramedics working in emergency departments of the hospitals & ambulances services.
5. India will work on renewable energy with Cuba.
Cuban Delegation headed by Oval Concepcion Diaz, Director (Joint Secretary) Renewable Energy, Electrical Union of Cuba met with Dinesh D Jagdale, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) today. They discussed prospective areas of cooperation in the field of renewable energy.
6. Wang Yi to host bricks summit.
China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi to host the meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs/International Relations on May 19 in a virtual format.
7. HANSA-NG 2 seater flying trainer Aircraft.
It is designed & Developed by CSIR-NAL and has successfully completed an in-flight engine relight test at DRDO’s Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) facility, Challakere on 17th May 2022.
8. India qualifies for the semifinal in the boxing championship IBA.
Women’s World Boxing Championships: Indian boxers Nikhat Zareen, Manisha & Parveen will play their semi-finals in Istanbul this evening. IBA Women’s -Indian Pugilists Parveen & Manisha Moun finished their campaign with bronze medals. Parveen was defeated by Irish Amy Sara Broadhurst in the 63kg semifinal, while Manisha Moun lost to Italian Irma Testa in the 57kg semifinal.
9. India signs a pact with Jordan to fulfill fertilizer demand.
India signs fertilizer pacts with Jordan as the Ukraine-Russia conflict impacts supplies and prices. Remember, India and Jordan have a joint company on fertilizer as well–Jordan India Fertilizer Company (JIFCO). A high-level delegation led by Union Minister Mansukh Mandviya visited Jordan from 13th to 15th May 2022, for enhanced cooperation in Fertilizer Sector amid Global Fertilizers crisis.
