1. MEA represents India at the UN, Food Security ministerial.

Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan participated in Ministerial Meeting at UN, chaired by U.S. Secy of State Antony Blinken on “Global Food Security- Call to Action” India will play its role in advancing global food security; uphold equity, display compassion & promote social justice.

2. Indian Navy Digital library launched.

Admiral Radhakrishnan Hari Kumar, CNS launched the Indian Navy Digital Library (INDL 2.0) portal on May 18, 2022. This version with a mobile application is on an upgraded platform through e-aggregator MyLoFT (My Library on Fingertips). INDL 2.0 caters to a range of reading material: books, journals & magazines of general, technical & military nature.

3. Covidshield to merge with Biocon Biologics.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves the merger by absorption of Covidshield Technologies into Biocon Biologics in consideration for the acquisition of approximately 15% equity shareholding of Biocon Biologics by Serum Institute Life Sciences.

4. BRO will construct the world’s highest and longest tunnel at Himachal Pradesh.

From building Atal Tunnel at 10,000 feet to constructing World’s highest motorable road at Umlingla Pass, BRO India is all set to construct World’s longest & highest tunnel in Himachal Pradesh.

5. The Maldives to learn the green features of the building.

A group of 40 Civil Servants from the Republic of Maldives visited Indira Paryavaran Bhawan to learn about the green features of the building. The Visit was part of the 11th Batch of “Capacity Building Programme in Field Administration for the Civil Servants of the Maldives” conducted from 9th to 20th May 2022.

6. India announces to form of the Cotton Council of India.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal met stakeholders in the cotton value chain; announced the formation of the Cotton Council of India, an informal body under the Chairmanship of renowned veteran cotton man, Suresh Bhai Kotak.
