1. Indian railway to develop hyperloop technology.

To usher into a new era of transportation, Indian Railways has come together with IIT Madras to develop a hyperloop technology-based transportation system. Indian Railways will extend financial support of Rs. 8.34 cr to IIT Madras for this project.

2. Gaganyaan mission

ISRO successfully tests a human-rated HS200 solid rocket booster.

3. India to manufacture 75 trains.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visits Integral Coach Factory, Chennai to witness the manufacturing of Vande Bharat train coaches 75 trains will be produced before Aug 15, 2023. The latest version of the train coaches will be an upgrade over the previous version.

4. Rocketry premiered at Cannes.

The directorial debut of R Madhaban’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect premiered in Cannes as part of the Marche Du Film; attended by I&B minister Anurag Thakur, Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf, ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, on whose life the film is based.

5. Nikhat Zareen won the Gold at the Women’s World Boxing Championship.

Indian Boxer Nikhat Zareen becomes the 5th Indian woman boxer to win Gold at the World Championship. She won the prestigious World Championship GOLD in Istanbul in Turkey. The previous four World Championship Gold medalists are 1. MC Mary Kom (6 Gold) 2. Lekha K.C. (1 Gold) 3. Jenny RL (1 Gold) 4. Sarita Devi (1 Gold).

6. India to work on bilateral cooperation with Tunisia.

MoS Ministry External affairs Meenakshi Lekhi met the first woman Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to India Hayet Talbi EP Bilel. They discussed growing bilateral cooperation b/w India & Tunisia in diverse fields & talked about ways & means to further enhance cultural cooperation b/w the two countries.

7. Nirmala Sitharaman chairs the 7th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of NDB.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 7th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of New Development Bank via video conference.
